ASSIGNMENT: Frame/Vantage/The Thing

(Make sure you have read “Photographer’s Eye”)

This assignment is about photographing carefully.  I want you to think about the edges of your frame and where you stand when you make the photograph.

Photograph a minimum of 72 photos and, for each photo you take, make one more where you change your position and how you make the frame.  Changing position might be just moving a little closer or further away, moving to the right or the left or moving up or down.  Changing how you make the frame means considering what to include and exclude, what to crop off or make whole in the photo.

The third part of this assignment is to explore one topic, place, idea, or person(s).

Minimum to be collected

For B/W Photo
8 Prints:  8 different scenes – Not Variations – We will look at variations on the contact sheet.
– 2 Contact Sheets

For Digital Photo
– 20 Photos total in a Slideshow but only 10 different scenes
– For each scene you will also show 1 variation so there are 20 total photos
